Raja yoga is also known as the path of discipline or concentration, because on this path we control and concentrate the body, mind and breath to reach deeper states of consciousness. By purifying our nervous system and raising our consciousness into higher centers in the brain, we experience our nature beyond the mind and body as the joy of pure consciousness.
